Welcome to the Teens!
Now that you’ve heaved a sigh of relief that the Schuylkill River is not flowing with lava and the 422 corridor hasn’t been pummeled with meteors, it’s time to celebrate. New Year’s Eve entertainment options in the Valley Forge area are as countless as confetti. Happy 2013!
The Valley Forge Casino Resort is throwing numerous bashes, from a rocking dinner dance party hosted by local icon Jerry Blavat to a masquerade ball with dinner and dessert stations, favors and champagne.
Adults can tap their inner child at the December 31st party at Arnold's Family Fun Center, Oaks, where you can buy a package that includes bowling, arcade play, go-karts, catered buffet, two drink tickets (cash bar following), champagne toast (partygoers must be over 21) and DJ.
You can also head over to Radnor and send off 2012 in style with Glenmorgan Bar & Grill’s four-course New Year’s Eve Dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for $65 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Guests can make it a real celebration with The Radnor Hotel’s Champagne Sleepover Package including a bottle of celebratory champagne, chocolate strawberries and breakfast on New Year’s Day.
The partying at the Villanova Conference Center, also in Radnor, includes a five-hour premium open bar, full buffet dinner, dancing and a midnight champagne toast. Overnight options are available and include continental breakfast.
Get ready to cheer “Felice Anno Nuovo” (Happy New Year) while enjoying numerous New Year’s specials at Peppers Italian Restaurant, in King of Prussia. The music starts at 9:30 p.m.
The Farmer’s Daughter at Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center, Blue Bell, will host a sumptuous four-course dinner and dancing to a D.J. After shaking the streamers off your hat, why not hang it on the bedpost and retire to the comfort of a cozy suite for the night?
No New Year’s Eve fun recommendations are complete without reminding all to be safe, drink responsibly and definitely not drink and drive. So, if alcohol’s part of your New Year’s Eve partying, do the designated driver thing or, better yet, stay over and “take the elevator home” at one of many Montgomery County accommodation options.
For those looking to welcome the 12th year of the new millennium in a quieter (and perhaps, more romantic) fashion, numerous intimate dining options are available throughout the county. For example, put off your weight-loss resolution by a day and indulge for December 31 on the tender cuts at Sullivan's Steakhouse, King of Prussia. A four-course price fixe menu enables you to “Live It Up as 2012 Winds Down.”
Last, if you’d rather leave the driving to someone else, contact the following transportation service providers. More reliable and comfortable than a taxi, they’ll get you to - and from - your destinations in a style befitting New Year’s Eve…and safely:
