Valley Forge National Historical Park
It is one thing to read about Valley Forge in a history book, but it is another to live it for yourself. Valley Forge Park offers interactive programs and events throughout the year that bring history to life and allow individuals and groups to better connect with one another. FEBRUARY - Valley Forge was the site of the first public birthday celebration for George Washington. The park celebrates Washington's birthday with a full day of activities and the ceremonial cake cutting.
JUNE - On June 18, 1778, the Continental Army marched out of Valley Forge ready to fight the British Army once again. Each year, Valley Forge Park commemorates the occasion with its March Out of the Continental Army program.
APRIL - Rev Run features a 5-mile run and a 3-mile walk. The Rev Run is a unique challenge for runners, a five-mile course that traverses the hilly terrain of Valley Forge National Historical Park. All proceeds benefit the Park.
NOVEMBER - Valley Forge National Historical Park honors our nation's military veterans during the annual Veterans Day Commemoration. The event includes a service at the National Memorial Arch and special park tours.
DECEMBER - Valley Forge National Historical Park commemorates the arrival of the Continental Army at Valley Forge in 1777 with a series of special programs and activities.
